I’m Zeb Palmer. I see the world in systems—technical, natural, human—and I spend a lot of time exploring how they connect. I’ve spent decades in infrastructure and operations, leading teams across SRE, security, and engineering. But my curiosity goes beyond the terminal—I also enjoy flying airplanes, photography, and weather. I am deeply invested in the communities where I live, online or in real life. I’ve always been curious about how things work—people, places, and the systems they live in.

Cloudlayers is where those layers come together. It’s a place for reflection, opinion, and the occasional tangent—shaped by curiosity, not content strategy. Whether it’s infrastructure or the Idaho backcountry, I’m mostly just trying to understand what makes things work—and what happens when they don’t.
